Summary

Event Name: Awareness Session Regarding Government Schemes for Women & a Girl Child Development

Objective:

To spread awareness among the women staff of Symbiosis International University, Hyderabad about current government schemes for the betterment of women and a girl child.

Outcome: The women of housekeeping staff became aware of multiple government- schemes which will benefit them. It was an interactive session with a doubt-clearing segment at the end. The women became educated on multiple schemes and a lot of them were determined to apply to the schemes which were introduced during the session.

Brief Report

Ikshana, the ISR club of SCMS- H in collaboration with Shakti, The Women Development cell & Social Responsibility cell of SIBM-H organized an interactive session for International Women’s Week 2023. It was organized on 4th March 2023 in the academic block. The session was about making the women staff of SIU, Hyderabad aware of the government programmes/ schemes for improving their and their families’ lives. This session was conducted in Telugu as it is widely understood by the audience.

M. Yoshitha of SCMS-H was the anchor of the respective event. She commenced the session by welcoming faculties, staff and students. Yoshitha introduced the speaker for the session Dr K.D.V Prasad, Assistant Professor (research) of SIBM-H.

The first game was lemon & spoon in which child has to balance a lemon with spoon in his/her mouth. We divided the children into groups; there were 3 rounds and 2 winners were declared.

Dr. K D V Prasad started the session by emphasising on the importance of women empowerment in today’s era. Later on, sir introduced different government scheme for women and a girl child. Sir explained all the chosen schemes in detail to the audience. The contents of the schemes introduced included:

Benefits of the scheme
Application process of the scheme

Annapurna Scheme
Dhana Lakshmi

Mahila – E – Haat

They were also given pamphlets briefing them about the different government schemes.

The attendees listened to the session keenly. A lot of queries arose as well that were clarified by Dr K.D.V Prasad and the coordinators.

The session ended with Abhijit Ramesh Goud of SCMS-H giving the vote of thanks to Dr K.D.V Prasad, faculty in charge Dr. Disha Pathak and the audience.

It is a matter of Policy that Symbiosis International (Deemed University) does not charge capitation fee for admission from students and this is widely and prominently published as well on all the relevant places like prospectus, website, Admission Booklets, etc.

All aspirants / parents are hereby notified that some individuals and/or organisations are giving / making false and misleading advertisements / claims in newspapers, websites, social media platforms or other means that they can secure/ ensure admission to various programme offered by Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Such individuals or organisations may also seek or demand money from aspirants or their parents in consideration of such purported assurances.

Aspirants and parents are advised to rely only on information and communications issued through the University's official channels, and to independently verify any claim regarding admission made by any third party.

It is informed at large that the University has not authorised or appointed any individual, agent, consultant or organisation to guarantee, assure or otherwise represent that admission to any course or programme, can be secured against payment of money or through any means other than the prescribed admission process. In this regard, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) requests the aspirants / parents to refrain from entering into any transaction with such elements. Despite this Notice, if any aspirant / parent still proceeds with or enters into transaction with such elements, they would be doing so at their own risk and cost.

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) further notifies that any aspirant attempting to approach Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission through or at the instances of such agents will be permanently debarred from admission to all the courses and programmes at Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
