Summary

Event Name: Brand Battles

Objective:

  1. To analyse and critically evaluate the marketing strategies of competing brands.
  2. To understand the importance of brand positioning and differentiation in a competitive market.
  3. To enhance public speaking and debating skills.
  4. To foster teamwork and collaboration among students.

Outcome:

  1. Students improved their analytical and research skills.
  2. They learned how to construct and present arguments effectively.
  3. The activity enhanced students' understanding of marketing strategies in real-world scenarios.
  4. It encouraged creative thinking and strategic planning.

BRIEF REPORT:

The "Brand Battles" event was successfully conducted on 24th September 2024 in the lecture theatre. Students were divided into teams of three and assigned competing brands such as Coca-Cola vs. Pepsi and Nike vs. Adidas. The activity consisted of two rounds: an analysis round followed by a debate round between two teams with similar brands.

Each team had 15 minutes to analyse their brand’s marketing strategies, followed by a 5-minute debate, focusing on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT). The event encouraged students to think critically, enhanced their public speaking skills, and promoted teamwork.

The event was highly engaging and provided students with valuable insights into marketing strategy and brand positioning in real-world scenarios.
