Event Name: Canvas Conversations and Rewrite the Finale

The intended outcomes are as follows:
BRIEF REPORT:
Prior to the event, a brief meeting was held for the first and second year students, work was assigned to the second year students and proper clarification was given to the juniors regarding what to expect from the event and what to prepare. The event was conducted in room 105 from 6 pm to 8 pm, commencing by an introduction of the event followed by the rules for the event from Pranava regarding the first and second rounds of the first activity, Canvas Conversations where 5 pictures were showed in rounds one and two and people were encouraged to unlock their creativity with a span of 2 minutes of writing time followed by a round of discussion regarding what they wrote. The participants, being the first years, were asked to bring a book and pen each with them as a requirement for the event
The members of the Literature club, the second years were tasked with ensuring the event progresses in a smooth manner, collectively conducted by Almas, Joona, Pranava and Abhinav. This was the first event where the batch of 2024-2028 had taken part in organized by the Literature Club and attendance was marked for the participants. Almas and Joona, were the judges for the event, the posters were made by Vaishnavi and the presentations were made by Abhinav and supportive feedback was also provided upon areas of improvement for each participant
The first activity, ‘Canvas Conversations’ unlocked the participants’ descriptive prowess by allowing the participants to look at a picture displayed on the screen for a few seconds and a time limit was given for the participants to describe what they observed in it either in the form of a paragraph, a poem, a short story or any other alternative method that best fits the picture after which the participants read out what they wrote followed by constructive suggestions and feedback from judges Almas and Joona after both rounds were conducted. Pictures such as a feather, an image of thunder and greenery with a rainbow, The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh, a lush green scenery and a candle was shown for the first round and for the second round, an image filled partially with greenery and buildings with a reflection beneath was displayed, the picture of a statue with a broken mirror, the picture of a tiger, an elephant and a woman, a picture related to the advancement of science and a mask was displayed for the second round
For the second activity, ‘Rewrite the finale’, a brief gist was provided to the contestants regarding the particular book or movie in case some of the participants were not aware of the premise of the aforementioned book or movie and the ending with the plot twists were also explained along with the context, again by the host Pranava. 7 minutes per slide was the time that was allocated to the participants to either change the plot for the book or movie, add other elements and change the ending as well, unlocking their creativity and letting their writing skills flow however, with a time constraint of 1 minute to speak about what was written by them. There was one round and 2 States by Chetan Bhagat, Romeo and Juliet, Titanic and the Fault in our Stars were displayed for the activity
After much deliberation and consideration from the judges, Sreenidhi was the winner and the runner up was Vaishnavi V, from the first years and again, a feedback session was also incorporated to improve on their skills as well as generating an idea of what to expect for the Symbiculture event followed by a brief gist of instructions to the juniors on what to do on the day for the Symbiculture event, deliberating upon which activity to proceed with. The activity was then concluded by a vote of thanks. No budget was allocated as the event was conducted by the members of the Literature club
