Activity Name- Promoting Dog Welfare
The “Crafting Compassion" initiative was conducted as part of our efforts to support animal welfare, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 15 (Life on Land). The focus of this activity was to prepare and donate durable, DIY dog toys to a dog welfare organization to enhance the mental and physical well-being of the dogs.
To support dog welfare by donating DIY toys to an organization that cares for stray and rescued dogs.
To contribute towards achieving SDG 15: Life on Land and promote the physical and mental well-being of dogs by providing toys that help with their development and teething.
Contribution to dog welfare by donating the toys to an animal shelter.
Improved health and stimulation for dogs receiving the toys.
We created a variety of simple and durable toys to support dog welfare, particularly addressing their mental and physical stimulation needs. We crafted these toys using materials such as cloth, socks, tennis balls, and ropes, focusing on making them safe, interactive, and suitable for dogs, especially during their teething phase. Each toy was designed to provide engagement and promote overall well-being, while also being easy to make and durable enough to withstand regular use by the dogs.
Once the toys were completed, we partnered with Share at Door Step, a service that collects donations directly from donors and ensures delivery to the appropriate organization.
By providing these DIY dog toys, we enhanced the well-being of dogs by meeting their mental and physical stimulation needs, especially during crucial stages like teething. This initiative not only supported their overall health but also helped improve their quality of life, despite the challenges they face in shelters or welfare organizations. Through these efforts, we contributed to a more compassionate and supportive environment for animals, ensuring they have the tools they need to stay active, healthy, and engaged.
