Ghost

Gaps

Summary

Event Name: Ghost Gaps

Objective: To hold an informal ice-breaking session for future members of the club and to build a better rapport between seniors and juniors.

Outcome: Quick thinking and communication skills were improved. All participants were kept on their toes by the different scenarios that were thrown at them.

Brief Report: The Ghost Gaps activity started with an introduction of what the activity was and the rules were explained to all the participants. A mock game was conducted with club members Dhruv, Vinit, and Pranava acting as participants. Four teams were created: three teams with three members each and one team with two members.

The game was conducted in three rounds. In the first round the team members each had to pick a chit from which they got the number of words they could speak in each turn, and together they had to pick the scenario that was given to them from another bowl of chits. The teams were given a total of two minutes, with the first thirty seconds as time for discussions. The first round was taken as a warm up round and eliminations were conducted in the second round. Teams 3 and 4 were eliminated and teams 1 and 2 participated in the final round against each other.

The rules were modified for the final round with the teams having to continue the conversation for as long as they could without long pauses and random words were thrown at them to include in their conversation. The activity came to an end at 7:00 pm with team 1 Abhijeet, Vaishnavi and Shreenidhi winning the game. The winning team was presented with two coupons from the bakery and was followed by a photo session.

All the members of the club were equal participants in making the activity successful, with Shreya and Shailja as the judges, Almas and Joona as hosts, Abhinav who contributed by making the presentation, Apeksha and Arsheen who kept check of the time and mistakes of the players and Nida, Vinit and Dhruv played the role of DC.

The activity was concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Almas Uddin Mallick, the Co-Head of Sahitya.
