The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, launched by the Government of India, aims to evoke a sense of patriotism and pride among citizens by encouraging them to hoist the national flag at their homes. This initiative is a part of the broader “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrations, commemorating 75 years of India’s independence. The campaign not only seeks to deepen the connection of the tricolour with every Indian but also to celebrate the spirit of freedom and unity in a grand manner.
The primary objective of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign is to inspire citizens to bring the national flag home and display it with pride from August 13 to August 15. This act symbolizes our collective resolve to uphold the values of independence, unity, and democracy. The campaign also aims to reinforce the importance of the national flag as a symbol of our country’s sovereignty and the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters.
As a part of this patriotic initiative, our college actively participated in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. The entire college community, including students, faculty, and staff, came together to ensure the success of this campaign on campus and beyond. Various activities were organized to raise awareness and encourage participation, including:
1. Flag distribution drive: To ensure widespread participation, the college conducted a flag distribution drive. Students were provided with national flag and encouraged to hoist them at their homes. The drive was met with enthusiasm, with students taking pride in displaying the tricolour.
2. Patriotic Assemblies and Independence Day event: The college hosted the special assembly named “Prabhat Pheri” at 8:30 AM where the national flag was hoisted, followed by the singing of the national anthem. The Independence Day event was held to engage students actively. Started with the Speech by Dr.K.P Venugopala Rao (Director- SIBM Hyderabad). Various institutes of our college such as [ SIBM SCMS and SLS] gave their performances such as (music and dance). Also, the Prize Distribution ceremonies where prizes and certificates distributed to security and housekeeping staff whose efforts keep our college clean, organized, and welcoming. Their tireless efforts for making our college a better place every day.
3. Social media campaign: the college leveraged social media platforms to spread the word about the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. Students shared pictures of their homes adorned with national flag, along with message expressing their love and respect for the nation.
The "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign had a profound impact on the college community. It instilled a deep sense of national pride and reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by our forefathers. The campaign also fostered a stronger connection with the national flag, with students and staff taking pride in displaying it at their homes. The success of the campaign was evident in the overwhelming participation from the college. Around 162 students, 6 faculty and 13 staff members participated in the event. Not only did it unite the college community, but it also encouraged students to engage with their families and neighbours, spreading the message of patriotism far and wide.
In conclusion, the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign was a significant event that brought the essence of patriotism to the forefront. Our college’s active involvement in this initiative highlights our commitment to the nation and our shared values of unity and pride. As we continue to cherish our independence, campaigns like these remind us of our duties as citizens and the importance of celebrating our national symbols with reverence and respect.
