Event Name: World Diabetes Day
Objective: To disseminate information regarding Diabetes and its prevention and cure by designing communication campaigns.
Outcome: Organize a Blue March around the campus as a symbol of awareness against Diabetes.
The Public Relations Club of Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Hyderabad held an awareness activity on 14th November, 2022. On account of World Diabetes Day, the Club led a march around the campus, with its members and other batch-mate’s roundabout from the amphitheatre.
The activity began with a brief introduction on ‘what is Diabetes’ and “why World Diabetes Day is celebrated?’’ by the two of the club members, Vissa Jaya Anantha Keerthy and Aaryan Arora.
All the participants gathered in a circle wearing blue to raise awareness as the blue circle is the universal symbol for diabetes. It was introduced in 2006 to give diabetes a common identity. The symbol aims to:
Support all existing efforts to raise awareness about diabetes
Inspire new activities, bring diabetes to the attention of the general public
Brand diabetes
Provide a means to show support for the fight against diabetes
Throughout the march the participants held up slogans for diabetes awareness and recited them too such as “Lets Dia-Beat this!” etc.
Various photographs and videos were taken to capture the event and its organizers.
After the completion of the march ,the activity was concluded with a vote of thanks by the club co-head Jigyasa Shrivastava.
Through this activity we imbibed the spirit of team work and bonding together display our support and concern for the diabetic patients. The club was successful in raising awareness regarding the disease and the ways to deal with it.
