Summary
Event Name: Connecting Plots
Objectives :
To conduct the first club activity by the Literature Club for the BBA (Hons.) Batch of 2023-2027.
Outcome : It was a bonding experience with the new batch and the literature club. Every participant joined enthusiastically. They enhanced their story telling skills and quick-thinking ability in the activity which was centred around improv and on the spot reasoning.
Brief Report :
We, the members of the Literature Club of SCMS-H – ‘Sahitya’ conducted the first club activity for the BBA (Hons.) Batch of 2023-2027. The activity, named “Connecting Plots” was exclusively planned for the juniors to provide a stage to connect and get familiarized with the members of the literature club. The activity required teams each having three-four members. One member of the team was given a prompt to build a story upon, and the other members were supposed to connect to the plot and continue the story. Each story was meant to be concise and interesting. The participants hereby earned an opportunity to showcase their story telling skills and quick-thinking ability during the game.

Each team was given a setting (Comedy, Horror, Thriller, Rom-Com, Adventure, Drama, Sci-Fi etc) and they were supposed to build a story around that setting. The members of the teams were randomly selected adding to the overwhelming suspense among the participants. The first round of the game went smoothly and the highlight was the cohesiveness between the teams. Bursts of laughter filled the entire room due to various hilarious and awkward scenes as the teams struggled to progress through their stories, keeping in mind the time constraint that they had to abide by.

After the first round of the game, the two best teams went ahead for the second round. The team that won the hearts of the audience at the end i.e., the winning team was handed the gift hamper by Vinit, which was especially curated by the members of the club. The activity was a huge success and we look forward to have more such activities in the future.

The assigned roles were done to perfection. Dhruv and Apeksha were phenomenal anchors. Shreya, Nida and Vinit handled the demonstration. Shailja and Vinit supervised the crowd well; and Ruchirekha synced the PPTs with the speeches. At last, the performances were judged and evaluated according to the required criteria by Shreya and Shailja.
