Battle

Event Name: Editing Battle

Objective:

• To encourage creativity by allowing members to interpret the same raw images in different editing styles.
• To enhance the technical editing skills of our members.
• To promote peer learning by comparing different editing approaches.
• To create high-quality, edited content that can be used for the club's social media presence.

Outcome:

• Members showed improved knowledge of photo-editing tools and techniques.
• Diverse editing styles and creativity within the club were recognized.
• The event saw increased collaboration and participation among members.

BRIEF REPORT:

Capture, The Photography Club, successfully organized the “Editing Battle”. The event commenced on 26th August 2025, when three raw photographs were shared with the participants via WhatsApp. A total of 13 members participated in the event. Each participant was required to submit one final edited version of their chosen photograph by the 28th of August 2025. While participants had the freedom to use any editing tools they preferred, they were restricted to using only the provided RAW files.

The submissions were judged by the head and co-head of the club. The evaluation was based on creativity, originality, technical quality (such as colour correction and exposure balance), and the ability of the edit to convey.

After a thorough evaluation of the 13 submissions, a winner and a runner-up were selected. The winner Arsheen Husain 2023-2027 received a coupon worth Rs. 1000 from Yummies' bakery, and the runner-up Shivam from batch 2025-2029 was awarded a coupon worth Rs. 500 from the General Store.
