The first batch of BBA had an opportunity to be a part of the Freshers’ week organized by our incredibly enthusiastic college teaching faculty and students at SCMS, Hyderabad. During this week all the BBA students were influenced to be part of the activities that took place, one such activity that organized during this week on 13th September 2022 was ‘To Be Determined’. Kyra Cherian, student of BBA 2022-25 designed this activity to give the BBA students a small taste of what the coming three years have in store for them.
There were a total of 40 participants who were divided into 10 teams with 4 members in each team. Each team was shown a strange yet innovative product. Every team was expected to showcase in how many ways this product can be used as per their perspective and advertise it to judges and to other participants. Once the teams got to see their products, each team was given 5 minutes to prepare and 3 minutes to present their ideas for their respective products. They had the freedom to name and decide the use of the product; extra points were awarded to those teams that provided the panel with creativity and out of the box uses of the assigned product. There was one student representative that was present in case any of the students needed guidance of any sort during the activities.

A Dumb Charades game, aptly named “Actions Speak Louder Than Words” was conducted on 15th September, 2022 for students of BBA batch 2022-25. This was an ice-breaker session for the 43 students, gently encouraging them to connect with their colleagues of the next three years and to gather how they work under a time limit. Needless to say, this was an incredibly creative way to welcome the young students.
8 teams were made based on the student’s knowledge about Bollywood, Hollywood and Tollywood movies. The hosts — students Shreya Ghosh and Mohammed Mohammad Shehbazuddin — had prepared chits of all three genres and put them in two separate bowls. One bowl was for Tollywood while the other was for both Bollywood and Hollywood, and it was entirely up to the teams to choose from which bowl they will pick the chit.
The first round consisted of giving each team two chances to score the 20 points, that is the highest possible points for this round. The participants get maximum 90 seconds to act and guess the correct movie. The students proved themselves as seven out of the eight teams managed to score 20 points. The highlights of this round were Anantha, Amitesh, Revanth and Naman acting so well that their teams guessed the movies in less than thirty seconds. Another highlight of this round was the very first team’s Anjali’s acting — it was so spectacular that the spectators were left speechless; Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii might have been a childhood favorite for early 2000’s kids.

With seven teams having earned 20/20 points, the hosts, had to fall back on their contingency planning: The Lighting Round. In this round there was no arbitrary chit-picking; the hosts themselves acted out relatively easy movies such as RX100, High School Musical and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. The seven qualifying teams were given 60 seconds to guess the movies correctly, and the first 3 teams to do so were hence qualified for the finals round.

The finals round consists of two strikes to each team and the teams had to score maximum points to win the game. The time limit to act and guess for this round was 60 seconds to make the game more challenging. The students rose to the challenge, doing their very best to win, but in the end there can only be one winner, and that team turned out to be:
