BRIEF REPORT: The Prachar PR Club, the Public Relations Club of SCMS Hyderabad, organised a guest seminar titled “Crisis & Reputation Management in the Age of Social Virality” on 23rd December 2025, at the Lecture Theatre. The session was attended by students from all three academic batches and aimed to provide industry-oriented exposure beyond conventional classroom learning.
BRIEF REPORT:
"There is nothing more beautiful than a child's smile, except knowing you were the reason behind it."
Ikshana, the ISR club of SCMS-H, proudly organized the 3rd edition of its flagship event, Kid's fun day, on 7th September 2025.
The event not only brought endless smiles to the children but also to their parents and our club members. It was a day entirely dedicated to celebrating kids, with the sole purpose of making them happy and giving them moments they would always remember. The motto of Kid's fun day was to create a safe, supportive, and joyful environment where children could learn, play, and simply be themselves.
Children from different age groups came together, played wholeheartedly, and collaborated with one another. The day began at the amphitheatre, where the kids gathered with excitement. Our club members engaged them in fun conversations, followed by a friendly game of volleyball with a few kids. Soon after, Pass the Parcel was played, where the children who were out got a chance to showcase their hidden talents, creating some of the most heartwarming moments of the day.
The next stop was the TT room, where the first official game "Red Light, Green Light" was conducted. This playful activity revealed the determination and competitive spirit of the kids, as they tried their best not to get caught moving.
After the games, everyone enjoyed a small snack break with Aloo Samosas and Maaza, which was enjoyed by the children. Soon after, the drawing competition began, which lasted for 45 minutes. The kids expressed their creativity through colors and drawings, while our club members and volunteers also joined in and it took them back to their nostalgic childhood days.
The event concluded with a lively mini DJ session, where the kids danced freely and laughed without a care in the world. Finally, a group photograph with the children and staff captured the joy and warmth of the day. As a small token of love and gratitude, we gifted each child a cute gift pack before bidding them farewell.
The smiles on the faces of the kids and their parents were the truest reflection of the event's success. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and love- reminding us all that our efforts were worthwhile and that happiness truly lies in the little things.
Hosts for the session (Vainavi and Navya)
Mr. Khalid Jamal taking over the session
The seminar was conducted by Khalid Jamal, a communication professional from Orion PR. The speaker delivered the session using a structured PowerPoint presentation, which outlined key concepts, frameworks, and strategies related to crisis communication and reputation management. To further strengthen conceptual understanding, the presentation was supported with videos showcasing real-life crisis situations faced by brands and organisations, enabling students to analyse how communication decisions impact public perception in real time.
Mr. Jamal addressing the audience
Mr. Jamal discussed the evolving nature of crisis management in the digital age, emphasising how social media virality has intensified the speed and scale at which crises unfold. He highlighted the importance of preparedness, strategic messaging, ethical responsibility, and timely response in safeguarding organisational reputation. The use of contemporary case examples helped students relate theoretical principles to practical industry scenarios.
Mr. Jamal sharing his views during the quiz
The session encouraged active student participation through open discussions, where students shared their interpretations and viewpoints on the cases presented. To further enhance engagement and experiential learning, the Prachar PR Club organised a crisis management-themed quiz during the seminar. The quiz prompted students to apply their understanding of crisis scenarios and communication strategies. Mr. Jamal actively responded to student inputs during the quiz, sharing professional insights, industry perspectives, and constructive feedback, which added depth to the learning experience.
