Brief:

The Medical Camp 2025, organized by the members of ISR Club - IKSHANA of Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies in collaboration with Club - SHAKTI of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, was held on 2nd February 2025 at the Gram Panchayat office of Modallaguda. The event witnessed the participation of around 200 villagers from nearby areas, along with staff from Symbiosis, who availed themselves of the free medical check-ups and consultations provided.

The event commenced at 10 AM and continued until 3 PM, witnessing an enthusiastic response from the community. To ensure an efficient and well-organized medical camp, a dedicated room was allocated for the doctors to conduct check-ups, with medicines arranged in the same space for easy distribution. Chairs were placed for patients to sit and wait for their turn, while additional seating was provided near the registration desk for convenience. This structured setup ensured a seamless process, allowing each patient to receive medical attention in an orderly manner.

Numerous villagers from surrounding areas, along with Symbiosis staff, actively participated, availing themselves of the free medical check-ups and consultations. A dedicated registration desk was set up at the entrance, where attendees provided their details before proceeding to the health check-up stations. As part of the initial screening, blood pressure checks were also conducted near the registration desk to ensure a thorough preliminary assessment.

To ensure maximum participation, a few club members actively engaged in word-of-mouth outreach by visiting nearby villages. They encouraged residents to attend the camp, emphasizing the importance of health check-ups and free medical consultations. This initiative helped bring more people to avail the healthcare services provided.

A team of three doctors, including a general physician, a paediatrician, and a gynaecologist, provided specialized consultations based on individual needs. To support the doctors, 2-3 nurses were present to assist with medical procedures and dispense prescribed medications. Near the registration desk, a BP (Blood Pressure) checking station was set up to conduct preliminary health screenings, ensuring that attendees with potential concerns received appropriate guidance.

Throughout the event, club members played a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and organized medical check-up process. Some volunteers assisted patients by guiding them toward the doctors, helping them register, and ensuring they received their prescribed medications. Others closely assisted the doctors, managing patient flow, providing necessary support, and ensuring that each consultation was conducted efficiently. Their efforts contributed significantly to the seamless execution of the camp, enhancing both patient experience and operational effectiveness.

As part of the initiative, a small awareness program on nutrition and hygiene was conducted by the club members. Through interactive discussions and visual presentations, the attendees were educated on the importance of a balanced diet, personal hygiene practices, and preventive healthcare measures. This session aimed to equip the villagers with essential knowledge to improve their overall well-being.

To ensure that every patient felt cared for, the organizers provided Frooti and bananas as refreshments before they left the venue. This small gesture symbolized warmth and hospitality while also promoting healthy eating habits.

The medical camp successfully engaged the community, with 175 people benefiting from free health check-ups and consultations. It also helped raise awareness about health issues and enabled timely medical intervention. Overall, it was a rewarding experience for both the participants and the students involved. Together with the efforts of the club members and the enthusiasm provided by the participants, this became truly a successful event. It was a wonderful day for everyone.
