REBRAND THE ORDINARY - MAKE IT COOL AGAIN

OBJECTIVES:

The Rebrand the Ordinary - Make It Cool Again was designed to ignite creativity and strategic thinking among students by allowing them to step into the shoes of a marketing professional. The objective was to:

  • Encourage participants to conceptualize innovative marketing campaigns.
  • Enhance creative writing and brand communication skills.
  • Promote strategic thinking by aligning creativity with brand objectives.
  • Provide a platform for students to showcase their originality and marketing insight.
ACTIVITY OVERVIEW:

Participants were provided with a Google Form containing 3 - 5 short creative questions. Each question presented a brief marketing scenario — for instance:

“You are the marketing head of Maggi introducing a new healthy variant. Create a tagline and a short 3-line ad idea.”

Students were then asked to craft a campaign concept, including:

  • Target Audience Identification
  • Tagline Creation
  • Campaign Idea (within 50 words)

Entries were evaluated based on creativity, clarity, and relevance to the given brand scenario.

OUTCOMES:
  • Enhanced Creativity: Students demonstrated originality and innovative thinking while crafting campaign ideas.
  • Practical Marketing Insight: Participants applied core marketing concepts such as segmentation, targeting, and positioning in real-world contexts.
  • Improved Communication Skills: The activity honed concise and impactful brand communication.
  • Active Participation: The challenge received an enthusiastic response from participants across batches.
BRIEF REPORT:

The Create-a-Campaign Challenge organized by The Marketing Club, SCMS Hyderabad, was a fun and engaging platform that tested the participants’ ability to think like marketers. Students displayed impressive creativity in developing unique taglines, defining clear target audiences, and designing campaign ideas that captured the essence of the given brands.

The event successfully encouraged innovative thinking and gave students a taste of real-world marketing strategy and communication development.
