Brief Report:

Sahitya hosted its second event where the club strived to ensure those who attended the event are left with timeless treasures and memories of themselves as time capsules through the form of letters, encompassing each individual’s dreams, hopes and plans for the future. The event was organized in room 105 at 5:00 pm with Ms. Isha Kameshwari being the anchor.

The event commenced with the introductory speech from Ms. Isha followed by the club head Mr. Almas distributing the necessary writing apparel to every participant such as the pens and papers for them to jot their thoughts on. The agenda of the event was to be a catalyst and a powerful motivator for people that would lead to personal growth and allow them to reflect on their thoughts, hopes, dreams and ideas for the future one year down the line with a lasting souvenir or a time capsule. This also provided them the opportunity to embrace change and celebrate new beginnings. People were allowed to discuss their ideas at ease, fostering a sense of collaboration that led to a light hearted and jovial atmosphere around where students were free from their usual routines.

After each participant was finished with their letter, the co-head Ms. Sreenidhi and Ms. Diya added a personal touch to their letters making it more personal and unique to everyone by writing each individual’s name on top of the letter with elegant calligraphy. To encourage them on their dreams and their journey, small notes that contained words of affirmation and positive messages were added with the letters to generate feelings of positivity and hope in the reader. A stamp pad was also used where each person could apply their thumb impressions on their letters to make it more personalized and people were given the opportunity to choose between two styles of letter covers with alluring and intricate floral designs.

The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Almas. In conclusion, this event offered people a serene sanctuary away from the fast paced and ever changing world around where instead of being engrossed in digital devices and technology, it was a refreshing breath of fresh air when people indulged themselves in the art of letter writing that is considered to be a thing of the past by most in the contemporary era. However, this was not only about setting goals but also of introspection both mentally and physically. These letters are tangible proof of cherished thoughts, hopes and a gift of compassion to everyone’s future self, to remind them that their journey so far was worth it.
