SIU VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

Introduction:

The Inter-Institute Volleyball Tournament, conducted annually by Symbiosis International (Deemed University), was held from 8th to 10th September 2025 at SLS Institute, Viman Nagar, Pune. This prestigious competition brings together teams from all Symbiosis institutes across India, providing a platform for sportsmanship, teamwork, and inter-institutional bonding.

The Tournament Experience:

The team began the tournament with an impressive victory over SIIB, winning the match by a margin of 15 points and advancing to the quarter-finals. In the subsequent match against SSSS, the team exhibited strong coordination. The team showcased great determination and gave a strong fight, though the match concluded in a close defeat.

The players displayed great teamwork and spirit throughout both matches. The experience was enriching and has motivated the team to come back even stronger in future competitions.

The players followed rotational play throughout the sets, highlighting team coordination and effort.

Although the result was not in our favour, the match served as a valuable learning experience for the players. Following the game, the team saw several other matches during the tournament, gaining exposure to advanced techniques, strategies, and the competitive spirit of experienced teams.

Reflections and Takeaways:

Participation in the Inter-Institute Volleyball Tournament was an enriching experience for the SCMS Hyderabad team. Competing at such a large scale for the first time boosted the team’s confidence, discipline, and determination to perform better in the future.

The team expressed strong motivation to train harder and return next year with greater preparation and focus, aspiring to achieve better results and bring laurels to our institute.

Conclusion:

The Inter-Institute Volleyball Tournament at SIU Pune not only tested the sporting skills of our team but also reinforced values of team spirit, resilience, and commitment. While SCMS Hyderabad did not secure a win, the exposure gained has laid a solid foundation for future success.

Our team’s match was scheduled as the third match of the day on 8th September at 11:00 a.m., against SLS Hyderabad. The match followed the standard three-set format, with each set played for 15 points.

Despite playing with determination and enthusiasm, the team lost in two straight sets, with points of 9 and 8 respectively. The players followed rotational play throughout the sets, showcasing team coordination and effort.
